Invisalign on the Go: What You Need

While you're undergoing Invisalign® treatment there are some essential items that you’ll need to have with you at all times in order to keep your aligners clean and fresh while on the go.

A pouch.

You’ll want to have a conveniently sized pouch to keep all of your Invisalign® maintenance items in. It should be something durable that you can toss into your bag, backpack, desk or locker. You're also going to want the pouch to have a sturdy zipper and a lining that is at least water resistant (for damp toothbrushes).

Your aligner case.

Whenever your aligners are not in your mouth, they should be cleaned and stored in your aligner case. Keep your aligner case with you at all times so that you have a safe, clean place to store your aligners when you are eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth.

Lip balm.

Orthodontic treatment comes along with dry lips, especially as you’re getting used to wearing your aligners, so be sure to carry your favorite lip balm with you to provide relief.

Travel toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste.

Whenever you take out your aligners to eat, be sure to brush and floss your teeth. You don’t want food particles and debris stuck between your aligners and your teeth for the rest of the day. Always brush and floss thoroughly before putting your aligners back in your mouth.

“Outie” Aligner Removal Tool

There will be times when your aligners will just be especially tight, particularly when you first switch to a new set. The handy aligner removal tool will help you detach them from your teeth whenever this happens.

Mints or breath spray.

You can’t chew gum while you're wearing your Invisalign® aligners, so if you're concerned about bad breath, mints or breath spray can help you to feel more confident.
